If we're going to seriously propose abolition of the Australian federal system we have to have at least some idea what to put in its place. This presentation looks at some of the issues we need to consider in deciding how to divide up governmental responsibilities in a post-federal Australia.
There are also a lot of characteristics a model will need that this presentation doesn't address. It's entirely agnostic on, say, proportional representation versus first-past-the-post voting. So don't expect to get a complete prescription for a model from this presentation, though it will make some suggestions of certain desirable and undesirable characteristics such models might possess.
I'm not an expert in this subject so confirm for yourself any fact I give you.
